Position Announcement
Title: Research & Policy Associate
Action Research and Coalition Building to Support Social, Economic,
and Environmental Justice
Urban Agenda works for a truly sustainable New York City - thriving,
green, and just. We advocate policies and programs grounded in action-oriented
research and supported by strong coalitions of unions, business, and
the community.
Core to Urban Agenda's work is its facilitation of the NYC Apollo
Alliance. The NYC Apollo Alliance is part of a nationwide effort to
support clean energy and good jobs, led by the national Apollo Alliance.
The NYC Apollo Alliance's work is guided by a Steering Committee with
leaders from the labor, business, workforce development, environmental,
and environmental justice communities. Its many activists play an
important role in supporting the Apollo agenda and are connected to
advocacy opportunities through public forums and an e-action network.
Critical to our success is our close working relationship with the
New York City Central Labor Council (CLC). By tapping into the CLC's
infrastructure, we are able to learn from and provide information
to its 400 affiliated unions that represent 1.3 million workers. The
Executive Director of the CLC serves as chair of Urban Agenda's Board.
